MGT317 - Public Works:Planning for and Responding to a Terrorism/WMD Incident - 24.00 Hours

Prerequisites

TEEX is authorized by IACET to offer 2.8 CEUs for this program.

In order to receive CEU credit for this course, participants must complete BOTH of the following:

  1. At least 85% of the MGT317 course hours and receive a passing grade of 70% on the course exam.
  2. The online course AWR112 – Public Works: WMD Basic Concepts.

NOTE: It is recommended that AWR112 be taken prior to participating in MGT317. AWR112 can be completed online at www.teexwmdcampus.com.

Description

This course trains public works managers and supervisors in their critical infrastructure and public services responsibilities and roles as they relate to a community's preparation and response to a weapon of mass destruction (WMD)/terrorism incident. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to successfully conduct vulnerability assessments of the jurisdictions critical infrastructure and facilities and effectively contribute to the management of WMD/terrorism incident as a member of the jurisdiction unified command structure. The course delivery methodology consists of lectures, small group discussions, participant activities, case studies, and scenario-driven exercises. The participants conclude the course with an activity designed to improve and enhance the public works emergency response plan. TEEX is authorized by IACET to offer 2.8 CEUs for this program.
